AlSci researchers bag championship in national tilt

Another research team from Alabel National Science High School bagged yet another award, this time from the University of the Philippines-ALCHEMES Research Fair. The team composed of Ernest Gabonada, Trisha Belle Pactes, and Francine Sanchez bested 29 other schools from all over the country in the applied science category. From all the finalists, the roster was cut down to five, and then, in the championship round, the research team from AlSci went head-to-head against the team from Philippines Science High School CALABARZON Region Campus, where they emerged as the champion, and the people's choice as well. The research presented by the team is an application of machine learning, which is a subset of artificial intelligence, to the early detection of plant diseases. Sarangani's reading program goes digital

Powered by LR on WHEeLS, Sarangani's reading program is going digital! In addition to regular lessons based on the most essential learning competencies, reading materials and interactive activities will soon be included in the LR on WHEeLS learning management system.  "Not only does LR on WHEeLS provide an opportunity for remedial reading for our learners, it also allows our teachers to upgrade their skills and to innovate," John Jerson Constantino, Alternate Reading Coordinator said.  "The LR on WHEeLS platform is perfect for our situation nowadays. DepEd Sarangani orients schoolheads and teachers on Digital ELLN courseware

"We are counting on your commitment, our dear school heads, to improve the learning performance especially of our K-to-3 learners," Curriculum Implementation Division Chief Donna S. Panes challenged the school heads who were present during the virtual orientation on the courseware on Early Language, Literacy and Numeracy or Digital ELLN, January 24, to make sure that teachers in the K-to-3 levels should learn the necessary strategies and pedagogies to effectively integrate literacy and numeracy in all learning areas. "To accomplish this," she said, "the ELLN modules should be discussed in the school learning action cell." Alabel 3 District forges partnership with 88.5 i-CARE FM radio

Elementary Schools in Alabel 3 District are collaborating with 88.5 iCare FM Radio that is based at Alegria National High School for the broadcasting of their RBI lessons. Teachers like Rowena Biene of Upper Alabel Elementary School record their radio-based instruction lessons and upload the audio files to a shared Google Drive for iCare FM to air during their designated time slots. "Each school is assigned a subject area. Our school is assigned to develop RBI lessons in Science," Biene said. The partnership was initiated by District Supervisor Fredgie Pasco upon learning that the radio broadcast of iCare FM reaches most of the areas in Alabel 3 district. LR on WHEeLS or Learning Resources on WiFi Hub for Expanded e-Learning in Sarangani is an innovation developed by DepEd Sarangani as an alternative to online learning delivery modality designed for areas where internet connectivity is a problem. As the year 2022 begins, DepEd Sarangani recognizes its achievements in the past year and eyes hitting new targets.
