Preparations for school opening continue in Sarangani

Despite the announcement from the DepEd Central Office that the opening of classes will be moved to October 5, preparation activities continue in Sarangani. "We will not say that we are ready, but we are preparing," Schools Division Superintendent Gildo G. Mosqueda said during the Management Committee Teleconference, August 26. Curriculum Implementation Division Chief Donna S. Panes reported that 90% of schools have finished printing the modules for the first week of classes, while 50% have printed the modules for the second week.  "The preparations are not without challenges," says Panes "We have received reports that some self-learning modules are incomplete or too lengthy. Some schools also reported that funds are lacking or materials, especially, bond paper and ink are not available," Panes added. DepEd Sarangani implements stricter safety protocols

In the interest of protecting the health and safety of all teachers and employees, DepEd Sarangani is implementing stricter safety protocols. Pursuant to Regional Memoranda 31 and 32 series of 2020 and in accordance with the Executive Order No. 27 from the Office of the Governor Steve Chiongbian-Solon, DepEd Sarangani issued Division Advisory No. 109, directing district heads, school heads and unit heads to observe a 2-day skeleton workforce and 3-day work-from-home arrangement effective August 24.  Schools Division Superintendent Gildo G. Sarangani's first school-based radio station rises in Tamban NHS

The first school-run radio station was recently established at Tamban National High School following the Department of Education's call for alternative learning delivery modalities for school year 2020-2021 where face-to-face instruction is not allowed by the government. With the help from various stakeholders, Tamban NHS was able to raise Php 253,000.00 for the establishment of the radio station, which is expected to benefit at least 13 schools in East Malungon District. Sarangani LGUs support LR on WHEeLS

Local government units of Sarangani have expressed support for DepEd Sarangani’s innovation on alternative learning delivery, LR on WHEeLS (Learning Resources on WiFi Hub for Expanded e-Learning in Sarangani). “The provincial school board has allotted P2-Million pesos for the purchase of LR on WHEeLS packages for 40 identified schools in the division,” Marife Gomez, Program Manager of Sulong Karunungan announced during the meeting of the Mayors’ League Sarangani, August 13 at Sun City Suites. “Gov.
